Sales vs goal, across companies
Actual against goal for every business, on one page.
For an owner or a sales lead with targets, maybe across several businesses on different systems. You end up with one page of actual against goal by month, quarter, year and year to date, combined and for each business.
- Get the actuals in. Each business its own way, from its books, a weekly email, or a sheet. QuickBooks connected, a weekly report by email (the playbook above), or a sheet someone fills in.
In the app: Connect QuickBooks (Connect a source), or A report by email (A report that arrives by email).
- Agree the definition. One sentence every business follows, kept where every answer reads it. Invoiced revenue by invoice date, no sales tax, net of credit memos is the usual one.
In the app: Tell it the definition (Context and definitions).
- Put the goals in. Business, month and goal, in a sheet or an uploaded file. A quarterly target becomes three months by dividing it by three.
In the app: Upload a file (Connect a source).
- Make one table. A model joins every business's months to the goals, with each one's last update.
In the app: Start a model (Models).
- Build the page. Actual against goal, the difference in dollars and percent, combined on top. Share it with the people who need it, with a read-only link or a viewer login.
In the app: Make a dashboard (Dashboards).
- Hear when one falls behind. An alert when a business falls behind plan by more than you'd like.
In the app: Make an alert (How Overscore tells you).
What you'll see when it's working
Open the page and know in 30 seconds whether each business is ahead or behind.
