The Postgres door
A Postgres login onto your warehouse, for a BI tool. Not open yet, and what to use meanwhile.
Metabase, Power BI, Tableau, Looker Studio and Excel can all read a Postgres database. The Postgres door would give them one: a login onto your warehouse that only reads, with every table, model and your fields under the same names as the app (shopify.orders, your models under their dataset).
Not open yet
No company has a door today, and nothing in Settings offers one. We open it once a door's login can be held to its own company's data and nothing else. If a BI tool is how your team works, tell us, and we will say when it opens.
Meanwhile
- A live link: in Warehouse, open a table or a query, press Download, then Live link. It is an address that always returns the current rows as a file, which Excel, Google Sheets and most BI tools can read on a schedule. An admin turns live links on first, under Settings, Company. Anyone who has the address has the data, so keep it like a password.
- A download: every row of a table or a query, as CSV, Excel, Parquet or JSON (The warehouse).
- The API:
POST /querywith a key made on Settings, Agents, for a script or a tool that can call an address (API reference). - Dashboards in the app, built on the same tables, each number with where it came from (Dashboards).
